Windowblinds Skins, Icon, WindowFxs
Published on November 13, 2011 By RoodVargas In WindowBlinds

I was looking at some Metro UI concept pages and I found a link where it displays some nice theme Metro style pages. Is it possible to build a windowblinds with those style and color themes? I have no skills on building a Windowblind skin,  I want 100% metro fully skined with buttons, progressbars ect. just like the concept pages linked. Is there anyone willing to build one for my personal use? I will pay for the work.

Please contact me if this can be done.

Well, in the meantime you could use the Win 8 Metro skin that comes with Windowblinds 7.3 RoodVargas.  As far as designing a skin for money, that may or may not be necessary as I am sure there are several designers that may take this on.  I can't personally but I am sure you will get a response soon.

I would just add to what LightStar said that you can use the Metro skin that comes with Windowblinds 7.3 and then install rainmeter and this skin http://fediafedia.deviantart.com/art/Omnimo-4-1-for-Rainmeter-158707137 and you will have pretty much what you want.

Thanks for the response guys. I have used rainmeter, but I was referring to building a skin to resemble those page's theme and having them as sub-styles to use in different theme scenarios to match wallpapers.

I know making skins is a lot of work and that's why I offering payment for it, is for personal use only. I would love to have something like those pages as a desktop theme. I am using currently WB metro by Stardock, but i am limited to that style only.

RoodVargas thats what LS and JC are trying to say there is a windowblinds skin in windowblinds 7.3 named win8 and win8 metro
You can get each displayed style by simply recoloring one of the skins... so you dont have to spend a penny
its all there and the style displayed is very very close what you get when you use the recolor optiion to match your walls

Yeah I am using the black metro. Money is not an issue. I was just curious to see if those webpage concept could be ported into a windowblinds form. I'll keep on searching. Thanks guys for the info

Haha, 500 bucks? I could buy 2 copies of Windows 8 lol

That's actually a low ball price for a custom built pro Visual style.. 2-4 weeks work.. nothing to laugh at really.. but.. you said money was no object so ya.

a lot of folks come through here offering to pay for a custom made VS, most of them don't know how much work is involved.

I'm sure someone will do it for free if you waited around long enough, but, with anything in life, you get what you pay, or dont pay for.

Good luck with it

@ roloccolor, you cant recolor black.. or white.

@ kitty, nice of you to mock it in the karma section.. a bit classless really.

You should try to act with respect to your designated title once in a while.

Yes, you could probably buy 2 copies of Windows 8 for $600-$700.  But if you knew how much work went into designing a WB skin, especially one that would require several sub-styles like you wanted, that amount is very reasonable. There are companies out there right now that charge $20,000.00 just to design a single skin.

Wow really? Did not know that. vStyler so $500 is a good prize?

I suppose it all depends on how much one values their skills, work, and time.

Honestly, Im not even really sure what your looking to have done.. as far as I can see, all metro is , is flat, colored, rectangles? The page you linked to didnt show, very well, anything that would be incorporated in a Windowblind, all I saw was some tiles and icons, none of which are in a WB.

perhaps what you want is a colored version of the Stardock metro blind?

Yes.

Think 'tailor-made suit' vs something from Walmart [whatever] / China.

An Architect charges anything up to around 15% of a building's construction cost...

The price of TRUE 'individuality' on a Million dollar house will be around $150,000.

Commissioned work will cost significantly more than something mass-produced in a sweat shop and sold at K-Mart....

I do not think metro looks all that bad guys and gals.
